Would You Want To Live Forever? No. I always thought I did, but I've since refined my answer. Living forever, implies invulnerability as well as immortality, meaning aside from not ever dying of old age, or disease, you'd be insusceptible to guns, bullets, fire, and anything else which would force your #life to come to an abrupt, and final, halt. Instead of this being a strength of this argument, I see it as a significant weakness. Think of it this way. An average human lives for about 75. In that time, how often do we get trapped somewhere. Miners get trapped in caves, earthquake victims get trapped in rubble, elevators stop between floors in the middle of the night, etc. Rare cases, it's true, but imagine you lived for 7500 years. Suddenly it's 100 times more likely to happen to you. As you live longer and longer, the chance of being trapped permanently somewhere jump to near 100%. And you won't have the release of death to help you here. (I just realised the morbidity of the phrase "release of death". But here I am not viewing it as the final part of a #life per se, but as a kind of Escape Rope *nods towards Pokemon players*) In addition, human minds are barely capable of keeping track of 75 years of memories, how do you expect them to be able to keep track of several thousand? Or several million? Or several quadrillion? Also, if science fiction is anything to learn from, the government will realise eventually that your #life is going on just a little too long, and will check up on you and it won't be long before: "hey, this guy looks 22, but he was born 140 years ago! Let's do experiments on him to find out how." #life is more precious because it is finite, we do not have an eternity of #life, or after#life to do what we want to do, and that's why anybody bothers to do anything. You can't waste time if you have an infinite amount of it. I do wish I could live 10,000 years though. I'd likely get tired of #life around that time, and I want to see what happens to the human race over the next few thousand years. *sighs and returns to Panic At The Disco album*
