Paralympic Games There I sit, eagerly awaiting, For the games to begin. With my Team GB flag in hand. The atmosphere is overwhelming. We're all in this together, No matter what race, age, religion. The commentator starts to talk. My mind is racing. There she is. Ellie Simmonds. The whole aquatics centre seems to shake with the thunderous applause, The screams of encouragement. She's doing it for Great Britain. She's swimming for the Gold. We're all on our feet. We're all crying out her name, waving our flags. She's done it. First place. New world record. She's inspired a generation. ______________________________ Today's been one of those days which I can put down on my list of 'Top 10 Epic Days Ever'. It's up there with The Dark Knight Rises Premiere at Number 1. As you might have already guessed, I went to the Paralympics, London 2012. Early morning train to the Olympic Park, then grabbing some breakfast before making my way over to the Aquatics Centre. I saw 5 world records being broken in swimming alone. It was truly spectacular. I spent the whole day at the Olympics Park, exploring. And now I am absolutely shattered. Too much walking. But, A day I know I'll never, ever forget.
