The Magic Day 11: A Magic Morning I had to read this chapter a day before (as instructed on the last part of the chapter before this) because the moment I wake up I have to say the words THANK YOU! It makes sense to be grateful for the day. I guess this chapter was meant to teach you to appreciate the little things we take for granted. I had to say THANK YOU the moment I woke up and say thank you again the moment my feet touch the floor then say THANK YOU for everything I touch and use to get ready for the day... I kinda failed for a couple of minutes... I woke up and did not immediately say the words THANK YOU... wanted to sleep again, while snoozing I remembered to say THANK YOU. I went back to snooze, as I got up from the bed I put my feet on the floor and made a step and failed to say thank you, then I remembered... this seriously made me trip because I wanted to follow the books instructions word for word so I tried a "rewind" and back stepped, then realized how stupid I was for trying to cheat with a "rewind", so I tripped a bit. Some assignments in this book really make me feel like a nut case but it seems to be working. As I was getting ready for the day, I had to say thank you for everything I touch and use. Its actually a good practice but hard to do when you're groggy and just woken up. I said thank you for having water to bathe with, said thank you for my tooth brush, for my breakfast, for the soap, shampoo, towel.. name it I said thank you for it. The mechanics behind this and to make it easy for you to feel gratitude is... imagine if you didn't have the things you touched and used to get ready for the day. Imagine you had no water, imagine you had no soap, no towel, no toothbrush. Thinking that would really make you feel grateful for everything I mentioned. I will try doing this practice daily... if I remember. But I think its just a matter of habit. So tomorrow when I wake up I hope I remember to be grateful. Its funny now I keep the book beside me, right by my bedside table so when I wake up its the first thing I see and I can try to recall what Magic Practice I need to be doing.
