Crash The warm, scarlet liquid pooled around the young girls body. She could hear her friend calling to her. Screaming. But she didn't want to use the last drops of her energy making out words of terror and distress. Instead she closed her eyes and relived the last seconds of her #life one more time. The calm sunny day. The fun, laughter-filled bike ride. Then the turn. They called it Devils Way for a reason. But she had forgotten to slow down. The metal railing hadn't stopped her speeding bike, but instead launched her off of it and sent her falling down the mountain side. She remembered the sharp bang of the rock on her head. Then just the noises of the forest until her friend found her, bloody with no signs of #life. And she did the only thing she could do now. She let go of her #life and was swiftly pulled away from her own familiar body into the very air around it. She watched her friend call 911. Watched them take her body away. Watched her best friend collapse in her room when they announced they couldn't bring her back to #life. Watched her friend succeed in #life, carrying the memory of her best friend with her for the rest of her days. Now, the soul of a lone girl sits on the curve in Devils Way, forever attached to this earth, watching others avoid her own fate and wishing she too had slowed down, but never got a second chance.
