Big Things I think sometimes we miss how obsessed we are with things until we start to write down our thoughts. Hmmm let me think, shall I write about the music lessons I gave today, or the acoustic session I attended last night? Shall I write about my new Mandolin (1929 vintage gibson in case you were wondering) or about the new custom made Mandolin I ordered today? (Walnut, pocket size) A year ago I couldn't play any instrument and would never have thought of playing at a club or giving lessons, sometimes really big things just come out of nowhere. You never know when your #life's about to get a whole lot richer!
My New Friend. Yesterday I got a new friend. It's 83 years old, it's a little worn and I know that from the outside it might look dull but when it sings it has the sweetest voice and the strongest, truest notes. It plays like it knows the songs better than I do, and when I hold it, I feel like it's a part of me that I've just been waiting for. Now it's sitting safely in it's case and all I want to do is take it out and play, but it's late, and no one appreciates being woken up by a crazy girl with a mandolin.
