Chapter 1 Part 4 She walked back over to the group of teenagers. “Hey” Emily asked “Why are the doors locked is today an off day?” Jensen looked at her and said “Stupid girl, don't you see there are no cars here. Don't you find that odd?” Emily did find it weird but she ignored him and asked the question again “Why are the doors locked is today an off day? June then looked over and asked a question that struck Emily. “Have you seen anyone but us today?” and with a quivering voice whispered “Anyone at all…?” Emily realized she hadn't.
Chapter 1 Part 3 They all appeared to be gone. She saw the clock on the bedside table and hurriedly ran out the door realizing she was going to be late for school. She was too busy trying to think of an excuse for being late to take notice that the streets were desolate. As she arrived at school she noticed June, Robert, Cody, and Jensen sitting on the stoops. She ran past them not really knowing any of them and tried to pull open the front door of the school realizing it was locked. Her heart suddenly tightened, but she know not why. Chapter 1 Part 2 She brushed it off as a simple nightmare and tried going back to sleep, except she couldn't the dream she had bounced off the walls of her mind daring to be examined. The next morning she awoke to an eerie silence. Emily thought that everyone was still asleep so she slyly went into the bathroom glad she got in there first. Normally her brothers would take all morning and use all the hot water. She then took a shower. When she got out it was still silent so she got dressed and ready for school. She decide to peek her head into the bedrooms of her family to see if they were still asleep or if they were already gone. They all appeared to be gone.
