Growing Up That weird moment... When you realize you're a grown up. It's when you get annoyed over things the kids do, that you used to do when you were their age. It's when you realize your parents were right. They had experienced all those things, they didn't pretend. They knew. Those little things that you didn't find so trivial meant a lot to them. Not putting away the dishes in the dishwasher, not appreciating the dinner they put on the table every single day, not turning off the computer by the time they told you to. All these things put a lot of strain on their backs, and all those things we disagreed on. I now realize that they were right. We will still disagree in the future, and I will probably always think I'm right, but they still need some credit. Tomorrow I'm gonna call my parents, tell them I miss them, thank them for taking so good care of me while growing up, and tell them they were always right.
