Rocking Chairs Why aren't there more rocking chairs in the world. If there were, the world would be a far better place. The rocking chair is used by many to relax, muse and contemplate. If we all had one in our #life, would we not all be that much calmer? With the ability to aid people's thinking, surely it would be beneficial for all school chairs to rock. As a student, I spent most of my time rocking on my four legged chair, much to the annoyance of many a teacher. This was not done out of a desire to disrupt others learning, rather to aid my own. Even now, when working, I have a tendency to lean back and think in my standard office chair. Through which, the designers have found it to be ergonomically pleasing to allow some supported flexibility to the back rest. The static chair can quickly become uncomfortable, thus distracting from learning whilst adjusting position. Understandably, rocking on a four legged chair is a safety issue, an issue removed by having a chair designed for this exact purpose. The chairs would need to be introduced at the beginning of a persons educational career, this helping to remove the novelty factor potentially incurred if introduced later in someone's schooling. With a rocking chair becoming normality, classroom disruption would be cut. Teachers would no longer need to stop teaching to tell a student to stop balancing their chair on two legs. Breaking the flow and concentration within the lesson The number of children/students falling off chairs through rocking and either over balancing or being pulled back by the class joker/bully would be slashed. With all this in place, the nations intelligence would grow, leading to further advancement in all areas of #life. All thanks to the ability to allow a student to lean back, relax and learn.
