Undefined Pale yellow light of the evening struck the flooded pavement, turning the already filthy rain water to a murkier brown by the minute. I sighed as I saw this, my feet striking the pavement in a regular, rhythmic beat. By the time I reached home, my new shoes would be ruined, and I wasn't sure if my rich, lordly father would be so kind as to replace them. This weather was not abnormal in these parts of England however, you'd think the people would be used to it by now but we never quite seem to become accustomed to the downpours that catch us at disagreeable times in the day. I marvelled inwardly. A shrill squeal caught my attention as my head snapped towards that general direction. Curious, I squinted back the way I'd come. I could see shocked citizens backing away from what looked like a rabid animal, but on closer inspection was a girl of about 16, my own age. I realised she was headed straight for me, but frozen in place I could do nothing more than stare in incredulity at the approaching figure. Her hair was matted in dark brown ropes framing a smudged but otherwise innocent face. Her clothing consisted of only one thin grey dress that hung loosely from her skinny frame. My mother wouldnt let it in the house, I had the time to think before the girl collided completely with me, bowling me backwards into the shallow water. I screamed- how was I to get it out of my dress? And more importantly, how was I to explain it all to my parents, who wouldn't even let me out in the rain, never mind get soaked in the filthy substance. People stared as I struggled to lift the girl off me, and regain my stance in my nine inch stilettos. What a sight we must have looked! Me in my expensive, designer outfit and sparkly shoes, and her in her horrible dress and bare feet. I finally regained my balance, glowering daggers at the girl. "Bastard girl!" I shouted. "Look what you've done, you barbaric, filthy animal!" I started shouting any insult I could think of at her.
