Short Story: First Day Of School "I'm going to be late mum! Hurry up". Shouted Emma on her first day of high school. "Oh Emma calm down you have half a hour before school starts" Emma has been looking forward to this day all her #life. "can I drive mum?" "Emma your 16, once you've passed your test then you know I will have no problem with you driving" they both got in the car, put the radio on and Emma fell into a world of her own, all she could think of was what her first lesson would be? What new friends she would meet? What her form room would look like? "Ok Emma, where here". As she got out of the car she blew her mum a kiss goodbye, the butterflies suddenly came. As soon as she saw her mum leave all she wanted to do was get back in that safe car and go home. The bell rang and all the new students was called to go into the assembly hall, "could all new students make their way to the assembly hall, thank you". As scared as she was she put on a brave face and entered the hall. After a hour and a half it was finally time for Emma to meet her new form members and teacher. "hi, my name is Rebecca what's yours?" Emma quickly replied "Emma, my names Emma" they both took a seat together as they was both in the same form. When they got their timetables and discovered they are in the same classes, Emma sighed with relief that she would have someone to be with on her first day. It was dinner time and all Emma could think about was, what to have for dinner? She and Rebecca went to the canteen taking about what their favourite T.V programme was, Emma's is Gossip girl and Rebecca said the same thing, all of a sudden things didn't seem that bad and she had found a friend that she could meet every morning before school starts. Dinner had finished and they both headed to their next lesson, when the lesson had finished she only had a hour left of her first school day. Rebecca had all of a sudden disappeared she searched everywhere for her, she saw all the teachers talking and asked if they had seen her when she asked Mr Hudson if he had seen Rebecca he was startled and replied "Rebecca? We don't have anyone in our form called Rebecca" Emma stood there is silence for a while, Mr Hudson then asked Emma " who was you talking to this morning Emma? I saw you but never saw anyone stood next to you" Emma felt sick and walked away. The last bell rang and she started walking home, her mum had text saying she's stuck at work and if it was ok to walk up. Emma started walking and thinking about the days events, all she could think about was this Rebecca, who was she? Why could only I see her?. When she got home she opened her laptop and searched the school records for anyone called Rebecca. She then found a record that stated there used to be a girl called Rebecca Dawson who attended the school in the 1980's on her first day of school she got hit by a car and is said to be haunting the school, greeting the new pupils and making sure they have someone to talk to up until dinner time then she would just vanish. Emma got goosebumps and all she wanted to do was go to bed and forget about the whole day, she got her pyjamas on, got into bed and fell asleep. She woke up the next morning and her mum shouted "come on Emma your going to be late for your first day of school" Emma jumped out of bed, with a sigh of relief she thought, "ah it was just a dream" Or was it?

Day 1: Planning You know it's going to be a good day when you wake up and find the sun shining through your window, the birds singing and the smell of fresh coffee coming from downstairs. it's time to get up, there's nothing that tastes or feels better than that first sip of coffee early in the morning. Time for work, I love Keelham it's just the early morning starts that drain me. The customers and work colleagues are the best people you can ever meet. The only thing I think about when I'm on those tills or putting stock out is the light blue sea and the crisp yellow sandy beaches of Australia or America. So where to start? Let's do the 'The Long Way Round' layout, from John O'Groats down to New York this is all I think about at work what route to do. So I come home pour myself some freshly squeezed orange and head upstairs, time to brainstorm. I'll sit there for hours thinking and thinking, tea time comes and then you know our only have maybe a few hours left until you go to bed and dream again. All I want is for my dream to become reality. I can always dream, can't I?
