Ready To Fly
And now as the sun it sets,
With the darkness rolling in,
The angel prays her request,
Her hearts desire to the end.
Faith and perseverance,
That's what's kept her strong.
Even in times of turbulence,
Those prayers have carried her on.
As those prayers go to heaven,
The perfect time is set,
To put the plan in motion
For the Lord's will to be met.
Now as things come together
That one link in her chain
It starts to wear and weather,
Lending every other link the strain.
The key at the end starts to glow,
And the links, they begin to shrink.
That chain becomes more for show,
Then joy pushes her to the brink.
The angel's face is restored anew,
But the only difference is,
This time the facade is true;
A real experience of bliss.
And though the chain is still there,
With it's heartbreak and temptation,
Also pain and sadness, but where
Now is waning satisfaction.
Each connected to another
Links big and strong to be a weight,
Yet they also weaken together.
As one loses power, the others share it's fate.
With the Lord's perfect timing,
It puts one to the test.
Can the angel withstand each trying
That sets her against the rest?
The answer comes from trust in the key
To each link to cause some damage;
And make the angel ready to fly,
Even with her iron grip baggage.
