Thinking About Love What would a person be like if they never loved anyone, or in fact, anything? Surely if they'd never loved then they'd never felt emotional pain. Perhaps that's why it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. If you never experience the emotional pain then you will never really appreciate true happiness when it comes around, if it ever does, that is. It's not likely that there are many people out there who have never loved but there are plenty of people who take love for granted. For example, a young man who goes through three different girls in one week, telling each one that he loved them at least once. That's not love. Two people that have been friends for years, get into a proper relationship then, after time, declare their love for each other. That's love. In the words of Blondie: "Once, I had a love and it was a blast." It was. It was wonderful. I loved her, she loved me, we loved each other so, so much. But, what do you know, that ended in heartbreak, jealousy, denial, twisted feelings, hatred, every horrible feeling I could possibly imagine. Mainly pain. Pain. Pain hurts.
