Yoga Mats
I've always been super suspicious of my teachers. I try and gather hints and clues to find out about their personal #life. I haven't been very successful except for in 6th grade. My teacher was Mrs. Myles and possibly the all time worst teacher I've ever had. She was mean and rude and retired the year I left. Her real name was Cindy. Over the year, I continued basically stalking her but not exactly stalking her. I somehow managed to find that she goes to the gym in the morning, yoga in the afternoon and has no kids with a very faithful husband. I often overheard her calls to her husband and that was when I learned her schedule basically revolves around yoga.
So, I decided to use this to my advantage. We had an writing assignment to write about your favorite hobby. I wrote about yoga. Basically I looked up advanced yoga terms and pretended it was totally my thang. She gave me an A+ and commented on some of the terms I had wrote. A few weeks later, it was Christmas break and for a gift, I bought her a yoga mat and faked the signatures of three "super fit yogis" (whatever that means) because I wanted to look cool and so she'd hopefully like me and possibly raise my grades. I got a thank you letter in return in which she was super impressed.
Later that year, we had a lesson on fake signatures and identities. I was a little uncomfortable especially when she was talking about the fact that she had gotten a few things herself that had a fake signature on them.
All of a sudden she goes to her desk and pulls out that yoga mat. Oh my gosh, I was so embarrassed and sunk wayyy down into my seat. She said, "For example, this mat was signed by three big time yoga instructors. I received this mat from someone and want to verify the signatures. Does anyone want to look and see if they are real?"
And I think we all pretty much know what happened. Mrs. Myles was the worst teacher I have ever had!
