FANGS CHAPTER 41: Derek Desperation was killing me, Ellie didn't answered any of my calls and texts and I was starting to fear the worst. Either she had problems with the leaders of the rebels, or Chris had paid her a visit. Ugh! I hate that girl, I though as I took the phone again. Maybe she didn't know I was in Seth's house.. I needed to inform her. I was gonna click on the call button when I heard the door opening. Ellie walked in and I threw my phone in the couch. - Ellie, where have you been? I've been calling you a LOT - I said with a little of anger in my voice. - Sorry, my phone's battery is dead, I need to recharge it - she said looking for her charger. - Well? How did it go? - I asked worried. - Haha! You see, that's a funny question. The moment I mentioned your name they all said yes - Ellie said with sarcasm. Uh oh.. That tone only meant she was angry at me, great! Now I would have to deal with whatever thing those Rebels told her about me. - What are the First? - Ellie asked out of nowhere. - The First? Those are the Elder vampire's true name, since they were the first vampires in the world, why do you ask? - I asked her confused. - Michael.. One of the leaders said that you were once a First, but that you rebel and came here - she said siting in the couch. That only meant one thing, a long conversation. - I was one of the First, along with three of my friends, but we were Americans, and the Elders live in Europe, we didn't belong there, so we escaped - I said taking a sit on the other couch. - Ok, well, now I wanna ask something else.. How do you know Chris Williams? - Ellie said really serious. I sight. - He was one of my friends - I said looking away. - What?! He was your friends?! - Ellie yelled in shock and disbelieve. - Yeah, ok, don't make a fuss about it, it was long time ago, we're no longer friends - I said with angry and annoyance. - Oh, we'll forgive me for asking - Ellie said angry. - So... What happen? - she said normally. So annoying. - We grew up together, along with two more friends. When the Elders bit is they took us to Europe, were we learn about them. After the America's war of independence we mixed out selfs with the soldiers and returned home, were we helped in the war. After that I married my best friend, who was also a vampire. We retired from war and lived in a far away place. That was until Chris's partner died and he got jealous of my wife. The day I went to work he came home and killed her. I hurried her and disappeared, but somehow he kept finding me. When he tried to take over the world I unite with the Rebels just to take my revenge in him. I stopped him, but was not able to kill him because I still felt I loved him like a brother. After that I started to do jobs that payed good, until I had to bite Shane and that's when I got in contact with Chris again - - Wow.. I didn't know you had such a hard and complicated #life - she said feeling sad. - Well, is not like I want everybody to know my #life - I said looking at my feet, feeling and remembering everything I had just said with perfect details. - Derek? - Ellie said shyly. - What is it Ellie? - I asked. - How old are you? - - I'll turn 537 this July - I said without thinking. - What?! - Ellie yelled. - Oh come on, don't be such a kid! - I barked. - Derek! We're on April! Your birthday is really close!! - Ellie's voice now sounded with excitement. Something nine made me feel scared for a second. - Oh no! Don't even think ab- - - If we come out alive, I'll make you a birthday party! - she was screaming now while jumping on the couch. Seriously..! - Ellie, stop jumping, your not a little girl.. Tell me, how old are You - I asked with a teasing voice. Poof! She sat on the couch again, this time thinking, making calculations of how long has it been since she was bitten. - 59 - she said serious. - What's wrong? - I asked. - What do you mean? - she replied without making eye contact. - You sounded sad just a moment ago, is it because you had to count since the moment you were bitten? - I asked. - Maybe - - Or does it has to do with the person who bit you? - now I felt like a little kid asking lots of questions. - That may have a connection to my sudden reaction - she said. Sudden reaction? Was I blind to not see what her true feelings were? She was more affected than what I expected, which means that she had passed through a hard time when she was bitten. - Do you want to tell me? - I asked with carefulness. - Uh.. - she said doubting. - I guess that after you've been so sincere to me I should also share you my story - she said with a little of relief if I was correct. - Alright then! FANGS CHAPTER 40: Shane I touched the book and its power ran through my veins in seconds, my vision became blurry, I could see the white room, then I saw a black sky and grey clouds. I could still not see clearly, but I was definitely not in the room anymore. There was a cold breeze and screams everyday. A war. My vision got better and i was able to see that I was in a roof, I took a little pick at the fight going on down stairs. For my surprise I was in the university, the fight was running on the football park.. I heard battle sounds getting close to me so I hid behind and air conduct that was some kind of spider web. I sat there and saw how the door opened and Derek came out running, behind him was Chris, all cover in blood and with an evil smile on his face. He started to laugh and jumped in the air, where he flew towards Derek, hiting him in the center of his face. Derek fell to the floor with his back touching the cold ground. Chris took his claws out and burry them inside Derek's stomach, making Derek scream really laud. After that Chris stood a little away from Derek, panting and sweating. Derek was on the ground, his breathing was really fast and I could hear he had problems breathing. Chris made a tiny chuckled and leaned against the wall. - This is the longest fun I had ever had - he said laughing loudly. - Well, glad you've enjoyed it - Derek said with sarcasm. - Hehe! I've been waiting a long time for this day, you know - Chris said looking at the sky. - Ha! I thrust you! - Derek said as he sat with pain. - After all this years, after all the time we spent together, YOU decided to leave for a girl?! Then when I disposed of the problem you just ran away from me? I did it so we could hang out again, you know? Then, when I'm finally over it I meet a sweet couple and a plan forms in my mind.. I have it! I said. And after everything I've done, you still can't kill me, why? - Chris said with frustration. - YOU killed my wife! What do you expected me do, give you thanks? - Derek said getting up and screaming with anger. I was surprised by what was going on. Derek had never said anything about his #life.. I knew he had had passed hard times in his #life because of the way he acted. Seeing all this happening before my eyes made me feel somewhat nostalgic, like if I had gone through something sad too, but I didn't remembered anything, not about my parents, not about my childhood, everything before I turned ten was a mystery for me.The only reason I knew my parents was because I had pictures and videos of them and me, the only reason I knew they had left me the book was because they told their lawyer so he could tell me. I spent some time in the hospital, but in ever knew why, I mean, they asked me if I was ok, or if I was having nightmares, but after seeing I was sane they let me go. I lived with adopting parents for a while, but I moved away when I was nineteen. I took the excuse of coming to live here in Ohio because of the new and astounding University of Edenville was the best university I could be in. I probably lied a little about it, I just wanted to be independent and free. I haven't called them since I moved.. If I were to come out of this alive I think I would call them, I mean, they raised me for nine years, they were good parents too, is just that I never felt that comfortable around them... - Well, if you hate me that much, why don't you try to kill me?! - Chris yells back at Derek. - Because..! Because your my brother - Derek said with defeat in his voice. - Is that what's stopping you? Well, let me make this clear to you, we are NOT brothers! We are enemies. I hate you with all my rot and hollow heart! - Chris said yelling and jumping towards Derek. Derek stays still, smiles and Chris buries his claws inside Derek's heart. Derek falls to the ground and before dying he mumbles his last words. - I forgive you - A tear comes out of my eye, followed by lots and lots of other tears. Seeing his #lifeless body around the floor covered in blood broke something inside me. A pain erupts inside my heart and I keep sobbing silently. We had met not so long ago, but I felt as if we had known each other for years. I felt I should have treated him in abetted way.. I felt I could had stop his death, but I felt completely useless, standing in this hiding place, watching, hearing, but not without being able to help him at all. Anger filled my body and my heart. I wanted to scream and kill Chris, but somehow I feel something weird around me and before I could blink I saw Derek alive. - Well, if you hate me that much, why don't you try to kill me?! - Chris yells back at Derek. - Because..! Because your my brother - Derek said with defeat in his voice. - Is that what's stopping you? Well, let me make this clear to you, we are NOT brothers! We are enemies! I hate you with all my rot and hollow heart! - Chris said yelling and jumping towards Derek. What in the world?! Somehow time had turned back and stopped Derek for dying!? Or was the book trying to torturing me by making me see his death again? Derek stops Chris's hands and pushes him backwards. - Even if you say that, I still love you as my brother, but I'm not allowing you to hurt anybody else ever again! - He yells as he takes out a long knife from his back and with a jump he buries it inside Chris's heart. Pain erupts inside my head and I close my eyes. When I open them again I'm back at the white room, everybody standing as I had seeing them before going. Chris notices that I actually saw something and smiles. - Well? What did you saw? - he asks with a grin.

FANGS CHAPTER 39: Seth's POV - Wakey wakey Wolf boy! - A voice echoed through my ears as I opened my eyes. I was still in werewolf form, but now I was feeling all better. Inside the cell was Chris, standing with a huge smile in his face. The floor was still cold, but my fur was warming me. I got up and turned back into a human. I knew I shouldn't say anything if I wanted to keep feeling better, so I just looked at him silently. - Come with me Wolfie boy - he said as we got out of the cell. The passageway was long and confusing, but what was worst was Chris's humming. He was extremely happy and that only meant trouble. I was going to ask him where we were going and why I had no chains or anything to stop me from killing him, but Shane's scent hit my nose. Uh oh, that's why he's so happy I though. We came to a corridor that was not like the others, this one was white, there was no dirt, no earth, it felt really weird walking inside it. Everyplace we walked through was like cave tunnels, but this one reminded me of an horror movie. At the end of it was a white door. When we arrived he took a card an swept it inside some kind of machine, then the door opened. The inside looked like a room, all clean, all white and..! In the middle was a long table, and on top of it was Shane, breathing slowly. He had lots of bandages on his body, and he seemed weaker than normal. He was cold too, which was not supposed to happen unless he needed blood. - Do you know how to wake him up? - Chris asked me with a normal human voiced. I nodded. - Well, could you wake him, I need to see the power of the book - he said with no care of his health. He was a monster. - He needs blood - I said almost letting a mock come out of my mouth, luckily I bit my tongue to stop the words from coming out. - Is that it? - he asked with disbelief. I made another nod and turned my look at Shane, who was definitely suffering more than what I had suffer. - Aren't you supposed to keep him alive? - I finally said letting all my anger flow away. - Maybe - he said as he walked towards the other side of the table. - Then why is he in such a critical condition? - I asked looking at him angrily. He smiled and held Shane's chin up, revealing the multiple bites on his neck. - Isn't it a master pice - he said proud of himself. I almost turned, but I maintain myself to just growl. He chuckled at my action and told some dudes to come. I never saw them come in. They held me strongly, and before I could fight pain erupted on my head, leaving black dots on my vision until I faint. The sound of a machine woke me up. I was still in the white room, this timed chained to the wall. Besides the table was weird machine that contained gallons and gallons of blood. I heard foot steps. - Ah! Your awake - he said laughing. I tried to break the chains, but it was impossible. I saw something passed my face, then I felt blood on my right chick. I growled at him with all my might, but he just smiled and walked towards the table. - He should be waking up shortly - he said looking at Shane's face. After a couple of minutes I heard coughs and I knew Shane had finally awaken. Chris let out a sight of relief and walked towards the table. - Good evening Shane, you finally decided to join us - he said with a smile. - ..Where.. Where am I? - Shane asked with a weak and disorientated voice. - Your in my place. You know, I had to wait quite a while for you to wake up, my patience doesn't last forever, so I suggest you drop the act - he said with so much seriousness that I though he was somebody else. - Hmm.. - Shane said while stretching his arms. - You do know what the books power is, right? - he asked as he got out of the table. - No, I don't - Chris sad beaten. I burst into laugher and he gave such a killing look that I gulped. - Probably the reason why you want the book.. The book's power allows you to the future - Shane said looking at with worried eyes, while I had that same expression some time ago.. - Then, you'll read me my future - came a command from Chris. Shane sighted and nodded without complaining. - See that Wolfie boy, you should become obedient too, then I wouldn't have to hurt you - he said looking for something inside a desk, while other vampires came inside the room. He handed Shane the book. - Now, if you try to lie my friends here will detect it and I'll have to punish you - he said putting he's hand on his right shoulder, then up to his neck, where a series of bite marks could be seen. Shane nodded again and took a deep breath, then opened the book. I could feel a surge of gigantic power coming from the book, but that was it, I couldn't see anything..

FANGS CHAPTER 38: Ellie's POV I ran as fast as I could after finishing my talk with Derek. In the way I though it would be good to let the band know why I had missed the talent show and practices. I send a lot of texts to them, then went inside the rebel's base. Everybody gave me a hug, kiss and welcomed. I tried to be as friendly as possible before entering the reunion that was being held. I opened the door really hard, making the sound echoed through the entire floor. Some of the leaders gave me an angry look. Others jumped from their chairs in surprised. And then there was Michael, my ex, who dump me for a younger vampire. I walked to the center of the room, where everybody could see me and gave a sly hit to the table. - Chris is going to attack! - I said as serious as possible. - And how do you know that? - Michael asked with his annoying voice. - Because I have been fighting him with Derek and other people this past weeks - I said proudly. - Derek? Derek Wane?! - another one asked. When I nodded everybody made an awful sigh. - What? Don't tell me that you don't thrust him? - I said with a teasing voice. - Don't thrust him? - another one repeated. - It's the other way around - a woman said. - What? - I said between coughs. - Derek is consider the Hero of the rebel vampires - Michael said with a grin. - Come again?! - I said without comprehension. - Derek's a high class vampire, was in the secret organization "The Firsts". He then rebel and ran away to America. Here he fought the organization until the battle with Chris, after that he retired... - Michael said with honor and happiness. - So, I've been with a renown star and I never knew?! - I said still with disbelief. Something about the story seemed odd. I believe Derek would have said something to me.. This was a mess, and a big one, but I needed to act as if it was true because I had to get them to approve. - Then, will you help us defeat Chris once and for all? - I said with a touch of persuasion in my voice. - Of course! We would never refuse an offer like that! - said one of the older vampires. - Good! You just gave me your word! - I said with a wide smile. - Your hiding something, aren't ya? - Michael said with an evil smile. - Well, you know me too well Michael. As you all may know, Chris's army has grown big, so we intent to do the same! Our fleet will consist on Vampires, Werewolves, hunters and elves - I said the last part with a little of doubt. I saw how some of their expressions darkened, others just said What?! and then was the guy who was drinking blood. When I mentioned the others he spat all the blood towards the others from the shock. I would have laugh if the moment wasn't so important. Besides that, I needed to tell them about Shane and Seth, which I was hoping to not be as bad as now. - There's something else - I said between breaths. - Really!? - I heard Michael's voiced echoed. Along with his teasing voice. - We will rescue two of our friends who were capture by Chris. One is a werewolf called Seth, then there's my boyfriend - I added just to see Michael's face Retorcerce from anger and jealousy - His name is Shane, and he can read the book of thousand eyes.. - I said without mentioning his last name, didn't want them to find out he was a Parker. - Is he a vampire? - Michael's jealous voice asked. - Pardon me? - I asked since I wasn't paying attention to him. - Is your... Boyfriend a Vam-pi- er?! - he said screaming. I tried to hide my chuckles, but it was impossible to do, he WAS jealous! - Kind of - I said with a playful voice. - What does that mean? - another one asked. I sighted. - He's a half vampire - I spit with no emotions in my tone. - You know the rules, vampires can only- - I cut him straight. - Shane was bitten by Derek, and besides that! We're rebels, we don't listen to the High Vampire's rule book anymore - this I said with sonics anger that not even I knew where it had come from. Everyone stayed in silence for sometime, thinking, analyzing my word one by one. I'd say, it was pretty awesome the feeling i got of me demanding the leaders what was truly right. It made me feel important and smart, something Michael never showed me. - Your right, lets unite our forces for this special occasion - said Ghran, the head of the rebels. My heart jumped from surprised as I heard him. I didn't knew he was here.. Now I felt like an idiot! Stupid, stupid, stupid! - Well, if that's all, then leave, we have a reunion to finish - Michael said coldly. - Oh! Ok, don't mind me, I have to reunite with Derek anyway - I said trying to hide my anger. Walked towards the door, opened with carefulness, then threw it hard when I was out.

FANGS CHAPTER 37: Derek I visited a friend before returning to the university. When I saw that the room was destroyed and empty I ran outside, where I met Ellie. She must had black out because she was hurt and moaning. I helped her get up and heard her trying to say something. - What is it Ellie? - I asked in a low voice. - Sha... Shane's danger... Chri-Chris.. Hunt.. Him - after that she blacked out again. So, Shane is in danger, he is being hunted by Chris...!! Shit! That guy! Ugh! I took Ellie inside and ran through the window. Caught his scent on the way and ran his way. When I arrived I saw Chris bitting Shane, who was covered in blood. I was able to see his eyes before closing, they reflected pain and sadness.. Chris was torturing Shane and I hadn't know. I was definitely going to kill that guy even if it was the last thing I did! Shane's body fell unto Chris's body. He put him in the floor gently, which cought me off surprised. - Derek! I was asking myself when were you going to show up.. You know, you should have seen him, gave quite a fight, he's a strong one - he said without turning his eyes on me. - Chris, let Shane go! Or I'll- I was cut by Chris, who appeared before me. Held the collar of my shirt in his hands, and made a wide smile. - Or what? You'll kill me? - he said hoping for my confirmation. - No, I'm going to kill you even if you don't hand him over - I said coldly and dead serious. Chris put his hands on my shoulders and started to laugh. It was was he had been hoping to hear from me since some decades ago. I gave him an angry look and he jumped besides Shane. He took him in his arms and smile. - We'll have to wait 'till next time, I need to discover how the book works first, then you can try to kill me while I take over the world - he said as he disappeared in a claud of white smoke. I didn't took time to waste, I ran back to the university, where Ellie was resting. I entered her room, where she was waiting for me all healed. - Your healed? - I asked confused. - Yep, got some help from another friendly enemy - she said sarcastically. From the door came Thomas and another human. They said hello and then waited for me to say something. That's when I remembered the smell, they were hunters?! - Are you? - - Yeah - - Where's Shane? - asked the other human. - Chris took him - I said serious. - Then we need to move, Chris will try to take control over all the creatures, including some hunters. I suggest that we unite all forces if we want to beat him - said Thomas. - And rescue Shane and Seth - Ellie added. - Well, it's decided! You guys go with your.. Uh, group. Ellie, you get all the vampires you can. I'll go into the werewolves territory again - I said with a deep voice. The hunters nodded and left. - Your not going to protest?! - Ellie asked surprised. - The last time we fought Chris, we almost lost, I'm not taking any chances this time - I said angrily. I could remember the last battle as if it had happen yesterday. - You know that they'll have the elves on their side - she said angry. - Not if I can interfere - I said thinking of Shane. - How? - she asked puzzled. - Shane can talk through minds, if I can contact him for a second, I'll tell him the plan - I said proudly. - But how will he find them? - she asked confused. - Elves are invisible, yeah, but they can be contacted through mind, that's what he'll do.. - I said. - We should just call the Parkers - Ellie said coldly and with a little of sarcasm in her voice. - What? - I said with no trace of comprehension. - It's obvious, Shane's last name is Parker, his parents hid him from bad people, including his family.. The book, part of the Parkers lots of legends? Shane is on of The Parkers - she said convinced. - Either way, if that's true, they can't know about him, his parents hid him for a reason.. Anyway! Lets go! We're wasting time here - I commanded. Ellie nodded and ran off. The second that I was alone I took a deep breath and went to the werewolves territory. There I met with the same guys of before. This time they asked me what was my business. After doing a short version of what had happen (including Seth's capture) they took me to the where the Grannie was. I told her everything, including the plan. She nodded and called all the werewolves she could. - Grannie? - I asked. - Is Shane truly one of The Parkers? - I asked doubting. - Yes, he is. In fact, I was able to see him a couple of times before his parents were killed - she said thing of a tragic fight - His parents erased his memory, no, sealed his memory, that's why he can't remember - she said surely. - I believe that even if we get out alive of this mess, his so called family will become a much more worst deal - I said fearing for the worst. - I fear the same boy.. Please protect him! I think he has a bigger destiny than any of us has - she said as she disappeared in the shadows. I was walking around when a text from Thomas came in. He had affirmed his part of the plan, now I just needed Ellie's confirmation. After that, hope for Shane to contact me..
