The Journey Part 1? The wheels of #life turn slowly, the route ahead is planned the tracks are strong and shiny, and the engine now is manned Embarkation has begun on the mystery express the scenery is vivid, the sky shines with blueness Wheels are turning faster, the trackside flowers blur and in the belly of the beast a thrill begins to stir Heading for the city now the bright lights are a calling the drivers left the cab and the engine starts a stalling In the midday city station at the platforms' side picking up a passenger for the remainder of the ride A new carraige is attached and off again at last heading for the suburbs and the city's in the past Steaming passed the starter homes, terraced & detached to twighlight by the oceanside, with bungalows and flats The tracks are getting rusty, the verge has not been cut through the workhouse district and everything is shut A dim light through the darkness, shadowed terminal ahead the engine slows to crawl, and then stops dead!

Flowers By The Roadside Flowers by the roadside, rainbow coloured, new, Sparkling with reflections in the early morning dew, Grown to be attractive, then cut down in their prime, A summers' blossom wilting, too long before it's time, On the pavement, in the hedgerow, perched up in the grass, A multi-coloured milestone for those of us that pass, Their beauty often lost in the haste of the day, I hope there'll be no more flowers, by the roadside, on my way.

Dark Styx Yellow then orange then red Now the sky was black and dead The sounds of #life had ebbed away But soft the tide still lapped the bay And as I neared the waters shore A hooded-figure in a boat I saw I ventured closer, pulse still racing The shadowy figure stayed stern facing A moment to subdue my fear Then on again towards the pier Above me in the pitch black sky The starlight had begun to die. With every slow surefooted pace My heart & mind began to race Should I stop, continue, stay, Turn & flee, Go on, delay The boatman slowly turned and beckoned I stopped there in my tracks a second My heart, my soul could not pretend T'was not the journey's start, but end.

Wasted Day I'll sleep in late til the mood wakes me. Then soak in the bath and let the water generate me Boil a brew and poach an egg or two Search the channels for something new, I'll make a nest 'round my favourite chair With ashtray, sweets and control all there, I'll plan my dinner, and supper and treats Check my mail and review the tweets Watch a film til I my eyes close, then, Wake up, rewind and watch the end again. I'll dim the lights and head for bed, And wonder what I should have done instead.
