Unexpected Love (Preview) Preview It was a few months after my fourteenth birthday that my #life drastically changed. I remember vividly the summer day that a strange boy that lived down the street had entered my house when I was home alone. He had forced himself onto me, overpowering me. As he took my virginity, the expression he wore was forever imprinted into my mind. The hatred in his eyes had scared me and made the memory terrible; the fear hidden underneath that hatred made me unable to forget him. And when my bed finally fell still and my cries dropped to low whimpers, the boy sat up. The tears flowing down his face captivated me as I lay powerless below him; blood flowed out from where his fingernails had penetrated his hands, tainting his naked body as he held himself and wept. [A/N: This is just a preview of the story Unexpected Love. More of the story can be searched on Wattpad under the author name: CelynBell ]

Ꮥecret Ꮥcars Ꮥecret Ꮥcars The school bell rang, signaling the time to leave for many students. Seven hundred high school students pulled their backpacks over their shoulders and left home without a second glance back towards the school. I don't know why I did. What compelled me to glance back at the nearly empty school? Sometimes I wonder if I had kept walking that day, maybe I would continue living my false but satisfying #life. I laughed. If I had, I would be a dead fool. I could distinctly remember a mysterious boy approach me through the golden leaves of autumn. His piercing blue eyes captured me. Perhaps I was going to greet him with an awkward 'hi' or ask him if he was lost; he couldn't have been a student at my school. He suddenly met my gaze fell into a sprint. His hand grabbed my arm and I was surprised at how strong he was. "Don't just stand there. Get moving," he said angrily. We raced out the front entrance of the school. "Wait. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Where are we going?" I planted my feet to the ground, but he just pulled me harder. "Idiot, you're going to get killed!" he whispered fiercely. His eyes flickered to our left before he pushed me against the fence. Gunshots resounded throughout the streets. Screams from high school girls erupted around me. "What's going on?" my voice shook. "Shut up and move. DELTA finally decided to show up and kill you." He pulled me away from the fence and ran to the nearest car. Smashing the window, the boy unlocked the door and pushed me inside as he made his way to the driver's seat. "Who's DELTA?" I asked. Once more gunshots started and four dark figures in suits appeared among the crowd of escaping students. My eyes widened as I distinguished my parents amidst their company. "Hey that's my mom and dad," I said as the boy put the car in drive. "My apologies," the boy simply said. He slammed his foot on the pedal just as my mother raised a gun towards us. The tires of the cars screeched. My mother's bullet only managed to scratch the side of the car. Her bullet. My mother. My blood ran cold. "What the hell is going on?" "Your parents are secret agents," the boy explained. His dark hair blew uncontrollably as the air from the broken window came into the car. "They ran away from their jobs at ORION without a second word. You became their recompense for leaving us. It appears they have joined DELTA." I didn't have enough time to digest what he had just said. He sighed as he glanced at my puzzled face. He pulled onto a McDonald's driveway and parked the car. "Look," he began once we were both out of the car and hailing for a taxi, "all you have to know is you're someone important, if not your parents wouldn't be trying to kill you. I'm here to help you from getting assassinated by DELTA. From here on out, you're ORION property, okay?" A taxi took notice of us and was heading our way. I still stared at the boy with doubt. Maybe I was dreaming. "What's your name?" I asked. A smile touched his lips. "That's the strength I need. You can just call me Jed." My stomach fluttered. Charmed by Jed's smile, I began to believe this wasn't that bad of a dream after all. The taxi seemed to drive me further away from reality.

Ꮋeartstrings Ꮋeartstrings Nostalgia overcame me as I took in the scene before me. I allowed myself to slowdown so that my wife could also enjoy the heartwarming view. She leaned back on her wheelchair and turned her head to gaze towards the freshly cut grass and small pond that harbored many memories of our dating years. The park was fairly large and had a larger pond which attracted more attention but this small portion was our own special place. And all I wanted to remember was those special times we spent together. Nothing else. "This place brings back memories," she said. I didn't even have to confirm that she was smiling. Knowing her, she would. Her eyes always did light up when we came here. "Sure does," I agreed. The corners of my lips relaxed into a smile. "I'm going to miss it," she said dreamily. My mouth twitched into a frown. I don't want her to talk about it. Not here. My eyes roamed down and saw her rubbing her pregnant belly, lovingly. I didn't know what to think of it...our baby. I knew that I couldn't accept Lily for giving her #life to it so easily. She knew she wasn't strong enough to handle the pregnancy. "You'll see it again," I promised. Pushing her wheelchair, we moved forward. If this place was to bring negative thoughts then it's best we get away from it. "I want to stay a bit longer," she said softly. I hesitated but finally stopped. I had always spoiled her in some ways but lately her calm mood made me want to spoil her more. She was rarely sad and it bothered me. Her words convinced me that she was certain she would die giving birth, yet she was perfectly fine with that fact. I guess that was the mystery of motherhood that men will never understand. "Daniel?" "Yes?" I answered. She smiled dreamily at me. "I love you," she said. Her brown eyes captured mine, pulling me back to all the times I've looked in them. "I love you," she repeated. Idiot, don't say that as if it's the last time. My hands trembled, mirroring my heart. I wish I could've said something back, but something swelled in my heart and climbed its way up my throat. I couldn't accept her death as easily as she did. "Daniel?" A sad smile touched her lips. Guessing my feelings, she squeezed my hand for comfort. I wish I could've said I was fine. Wave off all the pain I was feeling so that she wouldn't have to feel horrible for deciding the #life of our child over a #life with me. To convince her that she would also live and we would raise the newborn together. But I couldn't do it. I could only stand there, weeping. ©2012 Jocelyn

Ꮗhitε Ꭱosε Ꮗhitε Ꭱosε ©Jocelyn All Rights Reserved ༜༜༜༜༜༜༜༜༜༜༜༜༜༜༜༜ I hated the simplicity of it all. Loathed how easy their lives seemed to fall so easily in place. They hardly struggled to find love while I still found trouble fully comprehending what the word meant. It's ironic that I continued to read these annoying works of fiction. In some way reading them made me face the reality of #life, to understand the distance between our worlds. "Megan, put that book down and come have some fun," my friend called. Her silly bright orange dress matched my own, along with it came the title of a bridesmaid. "Coming," I answered. I reluctantly set my book aside and joined her. She led me towards the dance floor, to a group that consisted of bridesmaids, bachelors, and the bride and groom themselves. McKenna, the bride, welcomed me in her circle and reserved a special spot next to her for myself. Her white teeth matched her long strapless dress. She looked beautiful. "I'm so glad you were able to make it Megan," she said. Her smile was genuine. I smiled affectionately at her. "Of course," I said. "How does it feel getting married?" "I was a bit nervous," she admitted with a laugh. "But at the same time it felt like the best thing that ever happened to me." I was happy for her. Really. I ignored my hopeless romance novel and tried to actually have a good time with everyone else. To add the cake to the frosting, I had participated in catching the bride's flowers. They were white. My memory of white roses in my novels mad me translate the rose into its meaning; happy love. It fit them well. Before I knew it, the delicate roses were clasped in my hands. I had won. I was victorious. For a moment I felt a deep satisfaction then looked up for McKenna only to find her with her groom. It was then I realized I had only tainted the flowers. I, who believed little of true love, was mocking the sacred matrimony by catching these flowers. Something deep within me stirred. A bubbling envy surfaced but was overpowered by the longing in my heart.

ℳℯʟαηιℯ ℳℯʟαηιℯ ©All rights reserved ╳❖╳❖╳❖╳❖╳ I stared at the girl before me in scrutiny. Her story seemed too good to be true. My silence kept her rambling on and on about who knew what. Although listening to my suspect's crazy ramblings wasn't in my job description, it's gotten to the point that I no longer had a choice. I ran an exhausted hand through my thick short cropped hair as I tried to decipher what exactly the woman was saying. "Miss, I'm going to ask you to slow down and explain to me again why you tried to kill yourself and your fiancé," I asked. The whole problem seemed more complex than I've made it out to be but recently it's just been giving me a headache. "It wasn't me!" the woman cried out across the wooden table. She had stopped muttering and was now staring at me with a wild, crazed expression. Her hair was a mess, if medusa could be a blonde she would look like her. "I understand," I lied. "But you have to understand if it wasn't you, who else would it be? You know there were people at the scene of the crime." She whimpered as if she knew I didn't believe her, which I didn't. "It was her," she finally said. When she saw she had caught my attention, she continued. "She made me do it! She's a monster! If she can't have him no one can!" I suspected by 'him' she meant her fiancé but the other female she was talking about puzzled me. "Who's 'she'?" Her lips trembled and her eyes darted around the room with fear clearly identified in each of them. Still, she remained silent. "Who is the woman you're talking about, Vera?" I asked, addressing her by her first name. She leaned forward and kept her voice below a whisper although we were the only ones in the room. "Melanie." §ℳ§ My partner, Kyle, laughed besides me as we drove to where it all happened. I had explained to him what Vera had told me about the woman named Melanie. "Are you trying to tell me that this Melanie girl was the man's ex-wife who died years ago and is haunting his #life?" He broke into a chuckle. "This woman is crazy. First trying to kill herself and her fiancé then coming up with this crazy excuse!" "There's more," I said. "Oh, and that Melanie took control of her body to try to kill herself so the fiancé would be forever alone." "And if that failed, she would use Vera's body to kill her husband so that they would both be together," I finished for him. "That's crazy, James," he said as we pulled up to the house of Vera's fiancé. His name was Hector if I remembered right. "I guess we'll find out," I said as we stepped out of the car and met the other police officers surrounded around the house. Being the only one who talked to Vera, I was asked about her. I tried to explain about her and Melanie, ignoring Kyle's ridiculous grin. "So what are we going to do about Vera?" a female cop asked. A fierce expression occupied her eyes. "She has performed outrageous crimes and deserves severe punishment. We should keep her as far from Hector as possible." The knowledge and determination she had surprised me. A prickling inside my head warned me something was off. "I'm planning to set Vera free and have her talk things over with Hector," I said calmly. I earned a variety of incredulous gazes and outbursts. "You can't do that!" the female cried out. I met her gaze steadily. "What I say goes." Kyle stared at me, puzzled. "James—" A bullet shot interrupted whatever he was going to say. The female cop held her gun in her hand. Her blood began to stain her shirt and she fell, gun skidding across the sidewalk. I lowered my hand and put my own gun away as I stepped towards her body. She saw my face and began to laugh uncontrollably. "He's mine. . .," she whispered. I smiled back at Melanie then turned away from her and walked through the crowd of amazed officers. "Someone call an ambulance," I said, pulling out a cigarette. "And an exorcist too."
