Things Momma loved. (This is purely fictional) (457 Words) Description: A Young troubled teen girl confronts the killer of her mother in a drunken accident, her former best friend. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• I picked up my pen and tapped it on my lip. It was a ballpoint bic, the only pen Momma bought. I looked at the ragged notebook looseleaf page in front of me. I tore at the edges from where it had been mercilessly ripped from my notebook. I put my pen on the page and wrought: THINGS MY MOMMA LOVED. •Little bottles of cokes •Bluegrass •Coupons •Hair die •Shopping •Cadillacs •Clinque products •Josh Grisham •Days of our lives •Her engagement ring •Her diploma •Me I underlined "Me" Five times. She loved me. Loved. Past tense. It shouldn't be that way. "Jebb!" I looked up from my table in the cafeteria. Who wants to talk to me of all people? "Jebb!" Fayne rushed towards me. She plopped down in front of me, her tray clattering on the plastic top. "Don't call me that." I scowled. She signed. "Fine, Jennifer Bree. Why haven't you been answered my texts?" I glared at her. She hits my mother with her car, drunk, killing her, ripping her from me, and she expects me to talk to her? She lowered her voice. "Jebb...please...I was drunk...it was An accident..." "Does that qualify as an excuse?!?" She looked at me. "No! I screeched. "No it does not!" The whole cafeteria looked at me. Fayne looked at me. I dropped everything and raced from the room, and rushed Into the hall. I had been collapsed in a little ball near the water fountain for what seemed hours. "Jebb..." I felt a hand on my back and heard a strange a wailing noise. It was me. I looked Fayne in the eye and whimpered. "Jebb..we were both drunk...I'm sorry..so sorry...please..forgive me.." Sobbing harder, I hugged her tightly. She was all I had left. My only friend. "Jebb...she's watching you, she'll always be here..in your heart, she'll never be truly gone. She loved you more than any of this." She gently pressed the note I'd been working on earlier. "You were her world to her Jebb." I wiped my eyes and sniffled. "Does it ruin my though girl image to wail like a baby over her?" Fayne smiled. "Nah...if any one asks, ill say I slept with Darren or something." I laughed. I couldn't be mad at her. I got up and pulled her up with me, enveloping her in a hug. Arm and arm, we strode back into the cafeteria, leaving my Momma's list behind. It was just a list anyway.
