The Adventures Of A Wolf The sun glittered across the soft white blanket of snow covering the ground beneath my paws. I was alone. A lone wolf can't survive very easily in the wild itself as it would in a pack, but I was marked. A scar slid from one of my torn ears all the way down to the bottom of my head. My fur had a glowing gold color to it and my eyes were an eerie silver. It was winter in the Forest of Wolves. There were very few hunters in our area at this time. I rarely heard gunshots At all in winter. Hunting wasn't as easy for me as it was for the hunters. I occasionally caught a rabbit but I couldn't take an elk down. They always got the best of me. Now I can get one though. A pack had already surrounded a calf and its mother. I was waiting for the pack to take down one of the elk. A young wolf rushed forward and launched itself at the full grown elk. The calf staggered as it ran. I took the chance and rushed out of my hiding spot toward the calf. The other wolves payed no attention as I chased the calf. I leaped my teeth bared biting down into its hind leg. The calf fell panting and struggling to get up. I walked over to its head. It's eyes wild and frantic in pain and shock. I finished it off with a bite to the throat. Out in the wild no mercy must be shown to food and enemies. I ate until a growl arose behind me. I looked up to see the young wolf from the pack. "That's our prey, scoundrel!" He snarled. Other wolves appeared behind him repeated. "Scoundrel!" "Thief!" One of them said. "Our prey!" A protest began to rise. The younger wolf who I assumed was the leader looked at them for silence. Then back at me for a reply. "I caught it. You should have sent someone after it if it was yours." I growled turning back to my kill. "This is our territory. Now hand it over." He took a step forward. I turned and glared at them with silvery flaming eyes. "It's not stolen unless you caught it!" I snatched a leg and dragged my catch away from them. "I'll have to bring you to our leader then." The young wolf said. I scowled and continued to walk. I howled when the wolf bit down on my leg. I turned and snapped my teeth down on his snout. With yelps and growls we fought and tumbled. The other wolf collapsed on the ground panting then heaved himself up. "You're coming with us!" He growled taking hold of the back of my neck. I yelped in shock but couldn't move from exhaustion. From what I knew that was the end for me.
