Songbirds in the Meadow The sweet, high notes the songbirds sing. Full of happiness and wonder of such beauty and harmony. They fly among the trees, weaving their song in the leaves. They bring calm to the earth by their sweet melodies. One flies into the meadow, singing in all its majesty, then circles above the grass, floating among the honeybees. The blossoms in the grass sway all around him, while the sweet music continues, echoing his hymn. But then a disturbance comes, and startles all the animals. Sadly he continues his concerto, unaware of the danger coming. They run and shot, but he is oblivious, lost in the sound of the earth, and circling in the meadow. A snap, then a crunch, and a sickening cry ends the music of the sky in its tragic goodbye. And so we all mourn for the lost beauty and lovely melody.
