Little Girl
You grow up thinking you can take anyone and everything put in your way. You make plans in your head, preparing for an event that will likely never occur. You trust in yourself so much that you hope you are faced with some fate in which you can save the day, in which you will be deemed a hero. But you never realize how wrong you are until you are actually faced with one of your fantasies. I was one of those people.
...
I came home from a party late one night. Finding the house deserted, I recall my parents telling me they were off with friends in a bar somewhere downtown.
"Great", I think, "I get the house to myself." Already take by a sense of boredom, I walk into the living room to turn on the television. After clicking the power button several times without any #life emerging in the tv, I check the batteries. The remote is empty. I check the kitchen for new ones, without any luck. So I go to my room, more bored than before. One passion of mine is drawing, so it should be able to occupy my time till my eyes are heavy. Suddenly the lights begin to slowly flicker. After a few minutes of this, I lose concentration and begin to get annoyed. I walk out of my room to get a new bulb from the kitchen. After searching for a while and finding none, I decide to work on my drawing in the living room. As I walk in the room, I notice the tv is missing. Confusion strikes my mind. Just then, the lights begin to flicker here as well. I think to myself, "What the hell?". Then, all of a sudden, all the bulbs explode and I am showered with glass. I yell a quick "Holy shit!" and run out of the room. I start to see little droplets of blood drip on my hands so I ran to the bathroom and check myself in the mirror. My face is a little cut up but not too bad. Out of nowhere, all the bulbs begin to shatter in the bathroom, sending glass flying into my face and hands. "Oh my god!" I shout. I can hear more shattering in other rooms and when I open my eyes, I notice that the entire house is in darkness. Without being able to look, I blindly try to take out pieces of glass from my face and other parts of my body. Then I hear the front door creak open. My first thought is, "Thank god my parents are finally back." I run to the front of the house to try and explain everything that just happened. I see the door open with no figures standing to greet me. I call their names, thinking they must have gone into another room. No response. Just then a hand is placed on my shoulder. Startled, I jump a little and turn around. "What the fuck?!" I yell, seeing a little girl standing in front of me. She doesn't say another back. "Why the hell are you in my house?!" I loudly ask her. She just stares at me as a smile slowly creeps on her lips. I stand there extremely confused and I repeat myself, "Why the hell are you in my house?!" She back up slowly then sprints towards me. I turn to run, scared as shit. She catches the collar of my shirt and pulls me back with tremendous strength. "Get the fuck away from me!" I scream. Suddenly I feel a sharp pain on my spine. "There's a knife in my back", is the first though that enters my mind. I just got stabbed. I fall to the ground in pain. She walks over to stand above me. "Why the hell did you do that?!" I yell at her. She just stands there with that creepy smile. She then quickly turns her head, as if startled by some noise, and swiftly runs out of the house, slamming the door behind her. A few minutes pass, I can feel the warmth of my blood pooling around my body. I'm getting weak. I faintly hear my name being called. My parents emerge from the garage and scream "Oh my god!". Those were the last words I hear before I slip into further darkness.
