Wild Daisies. "Come sit down at the table we'll read a book and relax a little after that long walk" I say as sweet as I can but after the day I'm having, I fail miserably. As I rummage through the books, I can hear the children gibbering and pulling out the chairs at the table. I rub my brow as the whining starts again. It's always 'Miss Alex I want' 'Miss Alex I need' 'Miss Alex he did this' Miss Alex, Miss Alex, Miss Alex!! I take a deep breath so not to scream at my class, it's not their fault I have a short fuse today. I try to steady my breathing by closing my eyes. "Miss Alex?" a small cautious voice asks from right next to me. I open my eyes, shocked at how opposite the sound of the voice is from the ones I've been hearing all day. I look down and see one of the boys looking up at me. "Yes?" I ask, well, more like sigh. God please don't be tattling on your friends! My thoughts scream. "For you?" and he pulls out a wild daisy from behind his back. In that moment as I sink down to my knees two emotions render me speechless, love and shame. Here stands this three year old boy who has caused me my headache from being crazy on our walk holding a flower for me. I take the sole flower from his hand gently, sniff it and smile at him. Although it has a faint smell of cat pee, my heart is warmed. "For Me?" I ask raising my eyebrow. "I'm sorry" his bottom lip juts out slightly, I can tell he is trying to hold back his feelings, and that he's not just faking it. "I picked it for you on our walk, I thought it'd make you happy" he voice weavers a little. I feel the shame creep into me from when I raised my voice at him for something he did wrong just this morning trigging the headache. "Thank You Ethan" I say softly to him with a smile, so he knows this moment is just between the two of us. "Now please join your friends hunny and we'll read a story". I stand and place the wild daisy in a small Dixie cup of water. The thought of how I love my job engulfs my heart, making it swell with love for my class, as I turn away from that little white daisy and start the story.

Tis known, love cunningly embezzles because of greed, But in the end, I shrink back, nothing more than the past. As for me? Love is nothing but a pained memory

Lucky How can I believe that this isn't a fairytale when I lay here in your arms that I feel were made for me, with my head fitted just right over your heart lulling me to sleep? Spring I swear, I know not what to do. About my garden man, whom I tell to you. I know he is there, the flowers are proof! But when I think I spot him, he's gone with a poof. He is not bad you see.
